About the position

The Senior Systems Engineer role at Raytheon involves supporting the implementation of requirements development, integration, and analysis activities for maintenance training products. The position focuses on identifying issues, generating solutions, and verifying their implementation, requiring strong communication skills to convey results to stakeholders. This role is critical in the Land Warfare and Missile Defense Systems department, contributing to the development of radar systems maintenance training and ensuring system performance meets technical requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in Concepts of Operations (CONOPS) development and design for radar systems maintenance training.
  • Develop software requirements, including decomposition and flow down.
  • Interact extensively with other groups including Software, Integration, and Validation to develop and implement solutions.
  • Analyze system performance against technical requirements and make software/systems improvement recommendations.
  • Determine failure root causes and develop, design, and implement solutions.
  • Present findings and results to stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related STEM degree.
  • Five (5) years or more of documented work and/or academic experience in radar system and software architecture design, development, and analysis.
  • Experience with Patriot operations and maintenance philosophies.
  • Experience with training device development for simulated hardware and software products.
  • Active and transferable Secret U.S. government issued security clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Masters' or PhD degree in Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or other STEM related degree.
  • An active and in-scope Secret US security clearance.
  • Experience in requirements development and design related to maintenance training, PMET, PMT, PSL and MPT products.
  • Experience with serious gaming requirements, architecture design, and products including DOORS, 3dsMax, Unreal engine.
  • Experience in systems software design, architectures, development life cycle and processes.
  • Experience with test equipment and system signal tracing.
  • Experience operating in an Agile/SCRUM, DevOps, and test environment.
