About the position

The Senior Substation Civil Structural Engineer will play a crucial role in leading and designing high voltage utility Civil Substation projects within a diverse and fast-paced environment. This position involves performing design reviews, overseeing junior staff, and ensuring quality control on design packages. The engineer will also engage in client interactions and site visits, contributing to the development of bid and construction packages for substation projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead and design high voltage utility Civil Substation projects.
• Perform design reviews of civil/structural components including substation structures, foundations, and fire-walls.
• Oversee junior staff and contribute to their development.
• Engage in client-facing operations such as meetings and presentations.
• Ensure compliance with quality control and safe work practices.
• Conduct site visits to client substation facilities and travel for client meetings as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil-Structural Engineering.
• 5+ years of related experience in civil/structural engineering.
• PE Licensure preferred.
• Experience with design of steel and concrete structures, geotechnical engineering, and foundations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MATHCAD software.
• Familiarity with STAAD.Pro, RISA 3D, FAD Tools, SAFE, SAG10, and LPile software.
• Strong analytical and technical writing skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in front-facing client operations such as lunch and learns and kick-off meetings.
