About the position

The Senior Staff Auditor at Cincinnati Children's Hospital plays a crucial role in leading internal audits and special projects aimed at enhancing the hospital's operational and financial integrity. This position involves planning and executing audits, assessing risk areas, and ensuring compliance with policies and regulations. The Senior Staff Auditor will also supervise and train junior audit staff, contributing to the overall effectiveness of the internal audit team.

Responsibilities

• Conduct assigned internal audits and projects
• Perform and document audit procedures
• Build and execute the audit scope
• Data sampling and population selection
• Conduct meetings/calls with process owners and key personnel
• Analyze operational and financial data
• Validate operational compliance with policies, plans, procedures, laws and regulations
• Evaluate and test internal controls associated with the audit
• Identify and communicate meaningful audit findings and recommendations
• Document the results of audit testing with clear and concise audit work papers that support initial conclusions
• Prepare audit summary reports for management
• Assist management in follow-up on audit findings and corrective action plans
• Represent Internal Audit on organizational project teams or assignments
• Supervise or train other members of the internal audit team

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field (Business, Healthcare Management, Finance, Accounting, Operations Management, etc.)
• 5+ years of work experience in a related job discipline including a minimum of 2 years experience auditing in a complex corporate environment
• Audit certification(s) - Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Healthcare Internal Audit Professional (C)
