About the position

The Senior Procurement Specialist at Abbott is responsible for driving continuous improvement initiatives, managing key projects, and leveraging data analytics to enhance procurement processes. This role requires strategic thinking, strong analytical skills, and a proven track record in project management and process optimization. The specialist will work across multiple verticals and categories globally, ensuring the optimization of procurement operations and supporting strategic decision-making through data-driven insights.

Responsibilities

  • Support implementation and management of technology (e.g. Source to Pay), category strategies and processes
  • Develop and maintain procurement analytics to monitor performance, identify trends, and drive improvements
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within procurement and Abbott businesses
  • Communicate and drive change globally as a change champion within the Business Excellence organization
  • Develop and present reports and dashboards to senior management, highlighting key metrics and insights
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Seek innovative ways to maintain and improve procurement processes, cycle times, total acquisition costs, and customer service levels
  • Conduct regular process reviews and audits to identify areas for improvement
  • Utilize data analytics to provide insights and recommendations for optimizing procurement strategies and operations
  • Support implementation and management of procurement technologies such as e-procurement systems, supplier management software, and automation tools
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and integration of procurement processes
  • Assist with change management, leading business to adopt change and embrace technology and supplier consolidations

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain Management, Data Analytics or a related field
  • 4-6 years of procurement, process improvement, project management, data analytics and/or technology integration
  • Source to Pay Process Experience
  • Strong data analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Smartsheet)
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights
  • Strong project management skills with a track record of successfully leading improvement initiatives

Nice-to-haves

  • Category Management and/or Category Strategy understanding
  • Strong expertise in SAP Ariba technology and processes
  • Excellent project management skills with a proven ability to lead cross-functional teams
  • Ability to create PowerPoint decks and presentations
  • Functional experience in Procurement and other functions
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools and techniques
