About The Position

Samsung Research America is at the forefront of research and development in North America. This role will support one of our SRA Affiliates. As an Immigration Specialist, you will support both U.S. and International Immigration. Have a good understanding of current immigration requirements and remain abreast on new developments. You will serve as the main point of contact for managers, new hires, existing employees, and the HR team on all immigration matters.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field required
  • 5+ years of experience with employment sponsored immigration such as temporary work visas, permanent residency and I-9 compliance required
  • Experience with MS Office suite; specifically, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
  • Experience consulting on procedural requirements for various visa types; non-immigrant and immigrant
  • Passion for immigration and understanding of the sensitivity of the process to the employees
  • A team player that can adapt to the fast-paced and ever-changing environment, work collaboratively with other departments and managers at all levels within the company
  • Ability to effectively interface with all level of employees
  • Excellent organizational, multi-tasking and time management skills
  • Able to demonstrate complete discretion when handling sensitive and confidential information
  • High professional standards; strong customer service mentality, is positive and resourceful
  • Strong oral and written communication; able to communicate effectively within a diverse culture

Nice To Haves

  • Experience managing H-1B, B-1, L-1, TN, F-1 and permanent residency cases
  • Additional experience in domestic relocation, international assignment management and global mobility will be advantageous

Responsibilities

  • Counseling talent management team on immigration processes
  • Guiding employees and managers on immigration policies, and set expectations on better practice, process and timeline
  • Acting as a liaison between candidates and outside counsel and provide continuous support and coordination to keep the immigration process moving
  • Facilitating assessment of new candidates as presented for eligibility for sponsorship
  • Analyze complex immigration matters and effectively communicate solutions to internal clients in collaboration with outside immigration counsel
  • Actively identify process improvements focusing on employee experience
  • Assist with invoice processing/tracking of payment status
