About the position

The Senior Solutions Architect for the National Security Solutions Architecture Team at Amazon Web Services (AWS) plays a pivotal role in supporting US Government customers in the Northern Virginia/DC Metro area. This high-visibility position involves collaborating with various internal teams and external stakeholders to provide technical guidance and innovative cloud solutions tailored to complex, mission-critical challenges faced by the Intelligence Community. The architect will act as a trusted advisor, driving the adoption of AWS services and ensuring successful deployment of cloud architectures that meet customer needs.

Responsibilities

• Formulate and execute a sales strategy in partnership with the sales team to exceed revenue objectives through AWS adoption.
• Ensure success in building and migrating applications, software, and services on the AWS platform as a key member of the business development and sales team.
• Educate customers on the value proposition of AWS and participate in deep architectural discussions for successful cloud deployment.
• Conduct training sessions to transfer knowledge to customers considering or using AWS.
• Capture and share best-practice knowledge among the AWS solutions architect community.
• Contribute to AWS customer-facing publications such as whitepapers and reusable content.
• Build deep relationships with senior technical individuals within customers to enable them to be cloud advocates.
• Act as a technical liaison between customers, service engineering teams, and support.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in specific technology domains such as software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, or data & analytics.
• 6+ years of experience in design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures.
• Experience effectively communicating and presenting technical solutions to diverse stakeholders, including senior business leaders and IT management.
• Experience defining technical solutions to meet business objectives.
• Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph.

Nice-to-haves

• 10+ years of experience in infrastructure architecture, database architecture, and networking.
• Experience architecting or deploying Cloud/Virtualization solutions in enterprise environments.
• Experience architecting infrastructure solutions using both Linux/Unix and Windows.
• Knowledge of software development tools and methodologies.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or equivalent.
• Understanding of Federal Government application, server, and network security requirements such as ICD 503, FISMA, and FedRAMP.
