About The Position
TFL (Tickets For Less), a leading live entertainment and technology company, has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our team. As a Senior Software Engineer at TFL, you’ll lead the design and development of scalable, high-performing applications in support of both our internal and external product offerings. You’ll work closely with various business departments and the IT engineering team to deliver exceptional experiences that differentiate TFL from its competitors. We are seeking candidates that have a proven track record of leading and delivering high quality software products in an agile environment, and building large-scale, high traffic solutions. We are searching for individuals that can mentor other engineers of variable skill levels and that strive for continuous improvement of our core processes, tech stack, and business outcomes. This position will require the employee to be onsite, Monday through Friday, working standard business hours. Overtime will be required during certain business critical situations and will be managed by the IT leadership team.
Requirements
- Possess bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience/technical training
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering or related software development technical role with at least 2+ years in a senior or lead role
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, and modern front-end frameworks such as React, Vue, or Angular
- Solid experience with back-end technologies such as Node.js, Python, Ruby, or Java
- Proficient in working with RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and microservices architecture
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis)
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Understanding of application security, performance optimization, and testing frameworks
- Excellent oral, written, and listening skills
- Excellent problem-solving ability
- Proven ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Extensive knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the software development field
- Demonstrated experience as the primary SME (subject matter expert) of large, complex software products
- Strong desire to learn and help others learn
Nice To Haves
- Experience in the Microsoft .NET technology stack (C#, MVC .NET, ASP.NET, et al)
- Experience with Azure and/or AWS
- Experience with Linux
- Experience with Elastic
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server
- Experience with DevOps practices or infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, Kubernetes)
- Familiarity with the event ticketing industry
Responsibilities
- Drive the design, implementation, and deployment of software applications and systems in a fast-paced agile environment
- Translate product requirements and UX designs into well-architected technical solutions
- Work closely with product owner & the development team to flesh out requirements and solution design
- Review the work of engineers of every skill level with conducting peer code reviews and providing constructive feedback
- Lead triaging and troubleshooting of technical issues, seeing them through to resolution
- Write unit and integration tests and perform other quality-oriented tasks as needed to ensure high quality software applications and systems
- Interface with internal and external clients to ensure all technical solutions are considered and vetted
- Improve departmental and operating efficiencies by developing technical standards and practices
- Mentor and collaborate with peer software engineers through both high and low-level technical challenges
- Optimize application performance, scalability, and security
