About The Position

This position leads the security officer team by providing guidance and recommending changes to promote efficient processes. The role involves demonstrating organization and management skills by creating or adjusting duty schedules, patrolling FDIHB property and facilities to prevent theft or damage, and assisting in evaluating the performance and training of security officers. The Senior Security Officer also assists in conducting surveillance video review, leads security officers through work assignment, and participates in security management meetings. The role requires taking guidance from security supervisors, maintaining a filing system, and providing/implementing security protocols for assigned facilities and information systems. Additionally, the position involves performing morgue duties, coordinating personnel access to controlled areas, conducting duties with integrity and ethical decision-making, responding to inquiries, preparing monthly reports, auditing documents, completing daily and incident reports, and extracting data from the Security Access Control Management System. The role also involves recommending process improvements and performing other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • Three (3) years’ work experience as a security officer in a Healthcare Facility or Criminal Justice environment, including one (1) year direct lead or Officer-in Charge experience.
  • Associate’s Degree in a related field or two (2) additional related experience.
  • Valid, unrestricted insurable driver’s license.
  • Resumes and references are required.
  • High school diploma.
  • College degree or transcripts.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the security officer team by providing guidance and recommending changes to promote efficient processes.

  • Patrols FDIHB property and facilities to prevent theft or damage to hospital property, equipment, tools, supplies, and other real or personal property.
  • Assists in evaluating the performance of the security officers.
  • Assists in training security officers.
  • Assists in conducting surveillance video review as requested by security leadership.
  • Leads security officers through assignment of work and adjusts as necessary.
  • Participates in security management meetings and represents security in relevant meetings.
  • Must be able to take guidance and direction from all security supervisors or designee.
  • Maintains filing system.
  • Provides and/or implements security and security protocols for all assigned facilities and information systems.
  • Maintains all required certifications and participates in mandatory security training.
  • Performs morgue duties and assist in transference of the deceased to the FDIHB morgue.
  • Coordinates, controls, monitors personnel access to controlled areas. Ensuring individuals are authorized and credentialed to access designated areas.
  • Conduct assigned duties of the position with integrity while making ethical decisions.
  • Receives and responds to telephone inquiries from vendors and internal customers.
  • Prepares monthly reports for use by the Security Department.
  • Audits all documents received for completeness and accuracy.
  • Complete daily activity reports by the end of shift, also incident reports by the end of shift or within twenty-four (24) hours.
  • Prepares and extracts data reports from Security Access Control Management System, including security officer patrolling tracking system.
  • Recommends process improvements to security supervisor as necessary to promote efficiency.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
