About the position

As a Senior Safety Coordinator at Holder Construction Company, you will play a crucial role in executing our safety strategy and fostering a zero-accident culture across our project sites. Your primary responsibility will be to monitor daily construction activities to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company policies. You will implement the project's safety program and conduct onsite safety classes covering essential topics such as fall protection, excavation and confined space safety, scaffolding, electrical safety, and OSHA training (both OSHA-10 and OSHA-30). Your expertise will be vital in creating a safe working environment for all employees involved in our construction projects. In this position, you will be expected to identify and correct safety deficiencies in the field, ensuring that all safety protocols are adhered to. You will work closely with project teams to promote a culture of safety and provide guidance on best practices. Your excellent interpersonal skills will enable you to effectively interact with employees at all levels within the construction environment, fostering a collaborative approach to safety management. Responsibilities

  • Assist with executing our safety strategy and zero-accident culture on the project(s)
  • Monitor daily construction activities for compliance with OSHA and company rules/policies
  • Implement the project's safety program
  • Teach onsite safety classes including fall protection, excavation & confined space, scaffolding, electrical, OSHA-10, and OSHA-30 hour
  • Identify and correct safety deficiencies in the field

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of commercial construction safety experience
  • Formal safety training including OSHA 500 in the construction industry
  • Training in scaffolding, crane management, steel erection, emergency response, fall management, excavation and confined space, rigging, hazardous waste, and NFPDS/erosion control
  • Ability to identify and correct safety deficiencies in the field
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively interact with employees at all levels in a construction environment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with a general contractor preferred

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Safety Management
  • Professional safety certifications (e.g. CSP, CHSP)
