About the position

The Senior Revenue Recognition Accountant III at AspenTech plays a crucial role in supporting the project review process through enhanced reporting and analysis. This position is integral to maintaining compliance with revenue recognition standards, particularly ASC 606, and involves collaboration with senior management to prepare revenue forecasts and disclosures. The role emphasizes process improvement and adherence to internal controls within a SOX environment, contributing to the overall business transformation and growth of the company.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and update data inputs for revenue recognition under ASC 606.
• Prepare and present information to senior management, including revenue forecasts and performance obligation disclosures.
• Assess countersigned customer agreements for establishing Professional Services Projects and Software License Orders.
• Identify and implement process improvements while adhering to internal controls in a SOX environment.
• Support internal and external audit processes in collaboration with the Manager of Revenue Accounting.
• Perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end duties in a timely manner.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field from an accredited university.
• 3+ years of accounting experience in a publicly traded organization.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel with advanced data modeling skills.
• Strong attention to detail and process-oriented mindset.
• Strong communication skills to facilitate open dialogue with stakeholders.
• Ability to balance multiple priorities and adapt to changing business needs.
• Experience with Accounting ERP systems.
