About The Position

The Department of Veterinary Preventive Medicine seeks an experienced and motivated Senior Research Associate to work in the Wittum Laboratory at the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. The Senior Research Associate will be expected to develop, implement, and supervise new and ongoing research projects related to antimicrobial resistance including generating, extracting, analyzing, and reporting both observational field and experimental data. The Senior Research Associate will be expected to manage laboratory operations including hiring and supervision of research support staff. The Senior Research Associate will train and instruct both graduate and undergraduate students, research support staff, and other laboratory personnel in research techniques and processes. Finally, the Senior Research Associate will create and submit extramural research funding proposals to government agencies and other research sponsors, progress reports for funding agencies, technical scientific reports, peer-reviewed scientific journal articles, and individual scientific presentations at national meetings. Position will begin November 1, 2020. This position will be offered for an initial period of three years and may be renewed based on availability of funding and performance. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

  • Doctorate (Academic)
  • Extensive laboratory experience is required in the field of veterinary epidemiology applied to the study of antimicrobial resistance in veterinary medicine and public health.
  • Demonstrated progression in laboratory management and supervision is required.
  • Evidence of scientific expertise evidenced by multiple peer-reviewed scientific manuscripts.
