About the position

The position reports to the Director of Quality of Health and Environmental Quality Innovation Center and supports the Product Quality Assurance Department Management. The role involves collaboration with multiple internal and external stakeholders to ensure the quality and reliability of both parts and products. Responsibilities include testing parts and finished products for initial product development and long-term ongoing reliability evaluation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical assistance to internal and external SMCA customers.
  • Analyze warranty data and field claims from SEMCA and OEM customers.
  • Responsible for oversight of nonconforming materials and products.
  • Communicate and follow through with suppliers and leadership concerning investigation and needed corrective action to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Participate in internal factory and external supplier factory audits.
  • Maintain awareness and practices to ensure independent recognition of reliability and quality trends.
  • Support SMCA management to improve product quality to meet customer requirements.
  • Monitor and/or update work instructions, forms, and checklists for design evaluation, reliability testing, and regulatory agency testing.
  • Assist with the monitoring and reporting of daily inspection operations and results.
  • Assist in developing and conducting design and process evaluations for new product introduction to ensure compliance with customer requirements.
  • Maintain records and reports of actions and investigations pertaining to product reliability, quality assurance, and ISO standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline with preference to Mechanical, Process, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other related engineering degree.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Effective working in a Microsoft Office environment with an emphasis on Excel and Access skills.
