About the position

Carvana is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced individual to join our team as a Purchasing Optimization Analyst. The Purchasing Optimization Analyst will play a key role in developing and maintaining all aspects of Carvana's leading Sell to Carvana Program. The best in class online vehicle selling platform for everyday customers. Most importantly, you will see your insights have an immediate, tangible impact every day in a well-funded and rapidly growing company.

Responsibilities

• Play a critical role in determining how we price customers' vehicles.
• Collect and analyze data on the latest trends in the auto market and participate in making strategic decisions regarding the direction of our purchasing function.
• Manage technology relationships with data science, operational, product, and engineering partners across the business.
• Monitor vehicle sales performance and generate reporting packages for senior leadership.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 4+ years of work experience in an analytics focused role.
• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Science, Economics, Statistics, or related field required.
• Goal-oriented, enthusiastic, self-motivated with the ability to interact and communicate with all levels of the organization.
• Spreadsheet modeling skills including charts, graphs, pivot tables, etc. with both Google Sheets and Excel required.
• Demonstrated proficiency in reporting automation and data visualization (i.e. SQL, Python, Tableau, Snowflake, etc.)
• Proven ability to work with large data sets, identify trends, and provide actionable insights.
• Knowledge of statistics and regression analysis.
• Introductory programming course completion is preferred.
