They are looking for a Senior Property Accountant to join their team in Austin, TX or Denver, CO. This role is part of a global team of Yugoers who support each other to ensure consistent service delivery to students.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- 3+ years general ledger accounting experience
- Up to date on current technologies
- Intermediate skills in Excel, Word and Outlook
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work with minimal supervision
- Strong communication skills (written & verbal) that will allow effective communication with all team members and company relationships
- Must be well-organized, have a strong attention to detail and an honest approach to tasks
Nice To Haves
- real estate and/or public accounting experience a plus
- Carbon Literacy Certification or willingness to undertake training
Responsibilities
- Analyze financial statements monthly, report on variances (budget vs actual) and hold properties accountable
- Assist department to complete monthly close procedures including prepare general ledger entries and perform account reconciliations
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reporting for senior leadership
- Present financial analysis to monitor operational performance and guide business decisions
- Become the subject matter expert and resource for areas of responsibility
- Investigating and resolving audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance
- Train and mentor team members, including review of work
- Special projects as assigned
- Light travel may be required
- Be proactive in relation to processes, efficiencies & communication
