About the position

Brailsford and Dunlavey is seeking a highly skilled senior project manager to join our growing team in Atlanta, GA. The senior project manager oversees and manages large-scale projects within B&D's higher education sphere. Responsible for project managers, on-site staff, and prospective project managers working on specific campus design and construction projects, focusing on technical quality assurance and leadership skills. The senior project manager is typically the primary interface with the client and is charged with effectively managing that relationship and engaging in business development opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Manages a portfolio of higher education capital construction assignments.
  • Directs, supervises, and manages the performance of multiple project teams.
  • Monitors and evaluates staff performance, rewarding or correcting behavior(s) as appropriate.
  • Manages client service's financial and accounting requirements, including scope development and pricing.
  • Serves as the primary client contact and trusted advisor.
  • Actively participates in B&D's business development efforts.
  • Maintains and stores all records, research, and data related to assigned projects.
  • Directs quality control and client satisfaction activities specific to assigned projects.
  • Actively assists with the recruitment and training of new staff.
  • Participates in all appropriate staff meetings and training programs.
  • Assists with the company's research and development efforts.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or owners.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in architecture, construction management, engineering, real estate management, or related field.
  • Minimum ten years of full-time construction administration, pre-construction, construction management, or related experience on complex multi-phase projects and/or projects over $30M.
  • Proven experience in leading a small team of employees.
  • A valid driver's license for travel in the United States is required.
  • Willingness to travel up to 33% of weekly hours.
  • Familiarity with A/E and Construction Contract Language.
  • Experience developing design key performance indicators.
  • Development and management of full project cost and budget tracking tools and processes.
  • Familiarity working with AE and DM project schedules and sequencing documents.
  • Familiarity with standard construction logistics and constructability considerations.
  • Experience with navigating building codes and governmental approval processes.
  • Understanding cost and labor trends and their relation to project estimate reviews.
  • Knowledge of project delivery methods and an ability to advise clients on their applicability.
  • Experience soliciting project teams and third-party vendors.
  • Familiarity with QA/QC processes and tools.
  • Ability to perform basic periodic design reviews.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple projects of significant scale.
  • Ability to be productive in a fast-paced, multi-dimensional work environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
