About The Position

Canadian Blood Services is looking for a Temporary full-time Senior Project Manager, Workforce Planning to join their dynamic Talent Strategy team in the People, Culture and Performance (PCP) division. The Talent Strategy team is responsible for supporting Canadian Blood Services by leading the processes to prepare the workforce for the future and to support the effectiveness of the division. In this role, you will be responsible for the planning, management, development and implementation of a large, complex Canadian Blood Services project. You will coordinate the activities of all internal and external stakeholders and lead the various workstreams to achieve project objectives in accordance with established cost and time parameters. You may be responsible for managing two or more projects simultaneously.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary level education, preferably a university degree in a related field.
  • A minimum of 6 years of related experience, with 4 years of project management experience and/or training preferred.
  • Advanced verbal and written communications skills in English.
  • General management and leadership experience.
  • Experience with development of business cases.
  • Knowledge of Information Systems planning and life cycle management.
  • Knowledge of risk management concepts.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with strategic workforce planning, HR functions, or workforce data and analytics is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of complex, cross-functional initiatives as part of a broader enterprise program, owning a defined workstream and ensuring alignment to overall program objectives.
  • Translate business and workforce strategy into actionable delivery plans, defining scope, approach, and success criteria tied to clear outcomes and benefits.
  • Partner closely with subject matter experts across talent strategy, talent programs, labour relations, and operations to translate specialized insights into practical, executable plans.
  • Manage trade-offs across scope, cost, timelines, and risk, balancing strategic objectives with operational realities and constraints.
  • Navigate a complex, regulated environment, incorporating labour, policy, and compliance considerations into planning and execution with support from subject matter experts.
  • Partner with and influence senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to drive alignment, enable decision-making, and advance delivery.
  • Lead project governance, including reporting, risk escalation, decision tracking, and performance visibility.
  • Ensure value-driven delivery by aligning initiatives to defined benefits and supporting tracking of outcomes and impact.
  • Provide clear, insightful reporting on project performance, giving leaders visibility into progress, risks, and realized value.
