We are looking for a Senior Project Manager to join our growing team in Tampa, FL and help shape impactful water solutions across the US East Region. In this role, you will lead the delivery of complex projects, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement innovative engineering solutions. You’ll drive technical excellence, manage project teams, and ensure seamless execution while delivering value to both existing and future clients in the water market. Beyond project delivery, you will partner with leadership to identify and pursue opportunities with local agencies and municipalities, strengthening GHD’s presence across Florida and the broader region. You’ll leverage existing contracts to promote integrated water management strategies, build strong client relationships, and support business growth in areas such as stormwater management, asset management, and digital solutions, while representing GHD at key industry events and regional planning initiatives. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Civil or Environmental preferred)
  • Professional Engineer license required
  • 15 to 20 years of experience in water resources planning, modeling, and design of infrastructure and best management practices
  • Ability to lead project teams for planning and design projects.
  • Experience in leading teams charged with the development, calibration and application of hydrologic and hydraulic modelling and associated geographical information systems (GIS) spatial analysis
  • General understanding of watersheds, water quality, and climate change impacts

Responsibilities

  • Contribute strongly on a strategically significant area to a community of practice in a defined area of expertise or consulting, or lead on an area of expertise or consulting practice, to contribute to thought leadership and to develop innovative practice among colleagues.
  • Define the execution plan to disseminate innovative capabilities across the businesses, helping people develop these competencies and enabling them to innovate through solutions such as idea generation platforms, jam sessions, and hackathons.
  • Design complex and/or innovative engineering solutions and the associated validation process to enable the realization of a design brief (for example, in terms of functionality, performance, aesthetics, and cost) that conform to organizational and/or regulatory standards.
  • Ensure that business activities and individuals (e.g., employees, contractors, and visitors) within the area of responsibility adhere to the organization's health, safety, and environment (HSE) policies, procedures, and mandatory instructions, to safeguard the environment, protect the well-being of individuals, and minimize business risk.
  • Initiate, formulate, and implement new business practices within a specific discipline while managing the development and/or delivery of a significant element of the organization's change management program.
  • Manage the development of policies and processes for knowledge management to ensure the creation of best practices and the setup of case studies and internal knowledge-sharing sessions; manage, capture, and share knowledge among colleagues on project/program outcomes and innovative practices across a large area to support the practice.
  • Engage with senior business leaders to understand long-term strategic challenges.
  • Evaluate the capabilities of staff within the department to identify gaps and prioritize development activities. Implement the organization's formal development frameworks within the area of responsibility. Coach and mentor others to support the development of the organization's talent pool.
  • Take responsibility for managing the definition, development, and delivery of a significant project ensuring alignment with customer requirements.
  • Lead the discussion and recommendations of more complex or innovative technical developments to improve the quality of the used technology, such as systems, processes, infrastructure, installations, and machines.
