About the position

The Senior Project Manager for Environmental Science at DJ&A is responsible for leading teams of environmental resource professionals in producing compliance documents and ensuring adherence to quality standards. This role requires a strong background in environmental policy, particularly the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), and involves managing various projects for state, federal, and private clients. The position emphasizes problem-solving, technical writing, and effective communication with clients and team members.

Responsibilities

  • Manages teams of environmental resource professionals to produce environmental compliance documents.
  • Ensures technical accuracy and adherence to quality assurance/quality control procedures.
  • Drives initiatives to solve problems and develop creative solutions.
  • Coordinates with team members to achieve schedules, budgets, quality, and agency requirements.
  • Interacts with clients, customers, officials, contractors, and others.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of relevant experience in natural resources or environmental policy.
  • Experience with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), including independent documentation and analysis.
  • Proficient technical writing skills and experience in writing environmental documents.
  • Experience with transportation planning and permitting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Project manager experience in lands and rights-of-way, minerals, recreation, or range NEPA analysis.
  • 508 Compliance experience.
  • Natural resource field experience including data collection and reporting.
