About The Position

Trillium Health Partners (THP) is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join its Capital Planning and Redevelopment portfolio. Reporting to the Manager, Construction (M Site), the Project Manager will be responsible for supporting the Trillium Healthworks Project at M-Site, known as The Future Home of The Peter Gilgan Mississauga Hospital. Leveraging your experience in the building design and construction of health capital projects, the Project Manager will function as the main point of contact between the hospital and the construction partner. The M Site project is a new acute hospital, delivered under the Design Build Finance Maintain (DBFM) model in partnership with the Ministry of Health (MOH) and Infrastructure Ontario (IO). The new build will accommodate clinical and non-clinical support programs.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 6-10 years of experience in construction project management, including experience delivering greenfield projects.
  • University degree or college diploma in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; an equivalent combination of education and relevant construction field experience will be considered.
  • Experience working on large-scale capital construction projects valued at $100M+.
  • Experience working in a hospital setting or with a hospital as a client or constructor related to implementation in construction industry
  • Direct experience with DBFM projects.
  • Extensive knowledge in the planning and design of health capital infrastructure
  • Demonstrated insight into health care operations and pressures.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation communication skills.
  • Strong conceptual skills; systems thinking and ability to deal with ambiguity.
  • Superior analytical, problem solving, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Proven ability to build effective working relationships within a dynamic, professional team environment.
  • Demonstrate people management and staff development with emphasis on coaching, mentoring and leadership.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft 365 applications, including Excel, Word PowerPoint, as well as Bluebeam and Procore.
  • Executive stakeholder management Skills.
  • Working knowledge of infection prevention and control (IPAC) practices in health care construction and renovation environments.
  • PMP designation, or demonstrated expertise in project management, organization, and implementation across multi-stakeholder environments.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the hospital’s representative and primary point of contact between the hospital and the construction team.
  • Lead quality control and quality assurance inspections on behalf of the hospital throughout construction, commissioning, and handover phases.
  • Coordinate plans with other agencies having jurisdiction, including but not limited to the hospital operations, external vendors and Infrastructure Ontario.
  • Contribute to review and analysis of construction schedule, change orders/variations and consultants’ reports.
  • Advocates for the application of best practice across all aspects of the project.
  • Build and maintain relationships with the project team and key internal/external stakeholders to advance project objectives.
  • Strong ability to summary and escalate to Construction Manager.
  • Consult with enabling departments such as EHSW, IPAC, Support Services and others as required.
  • Coordinate hospital utility shut downs with clinical and operational teams.
  • Support communication with project working groups that are integral to the success of the project.
  • Engage and communicate with stakeholders on an ongoing basis, ensuring evolving project requirements and resource needs are clearly understood.
  • Work occasional evening and night shifts, as required, to align with construction activities.

  • Participate in the development and delivery of presentations and briefings to all levels of the organization, including senior leadership, the Board of Directors, and external stakeholders.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to meet project timelines and deliverables.
