About the position

The Senior Project Engineer at Brown and Caldwell will lead complex wastewater and conveyance planning, design, and construction projects. This role involves managing multi-disciplinary teams and ensuring project delivery aligns with schedule and budget while maintaining high-quality standards. The engineer will also mentor staff, develop project scopes and budgets, and manage client relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Lead project delivery and execution of a large recycled water project.
  • Manage multiple multi-disciplinary teams and subconsultants.
  • Interact with clients, team leaders, and internal staff to ensure project progress.
  • Prepare complex technical reports and deliverables.
  • Simplify complex topics for non-technical audiences and prepare summaries for stakeholders.
  • Manage quality control of deliverables to maintain consistency with program goals.
  • Identify and fill project resource needs in collaboration with the Program Manager and Local Leader.
  • Mentor and develop local and remote project staff.
  • Lead scope and budget development for task orders.
  • Manage change management efforts, including tracking scope and schedule changes.
  • Develop a Risk Management plan and maintain a risk register.
  • Interface directly with local external clients to develop service relationships.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Nine years of experience in delivering municipal projects.
  • Minimum of two years of experience as a Project Manager on wastewater treatment projects.
