About the position

The Senior Project Engineer / Project Manager for Wastewater is responsible for leading wastewater engineering projects, managing teams of junior engineers, and fostering client relationships. This role emphasizes quality service and innovation while addressing complex planning, design, funding, and construction challenges in the wastewater sector. Responsibilities

  • Provide professional services for wastewater engineering projects including design, plans, specifications, reports, project budgets, scope of work, permits, contracts, schedules, estimates, and coordination of sub-consultants and contractors.
  • Design and construct wastewater collection systems and treatment facilities.
  • Work on multi-discipline projects involving civil, electrical, and architectural aspects.
  • Identify, evaluate, pursue, and manage project opportunities.
  • Ensure quality control and quality assurance on all project work.
  • Maintain budgets and schedules for project assignments while ensuring quality client relationships and communication.
  • Coordinate, facilitate, and attend internal and external meetings.
  • Guide junior engineers, technicians, and other project team members.
  • Gather critical data to assist clients with project financing and funding development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer ideal or ability to obtain within 3 months.
  • 6+ years of experience in municipal civil engineering with a strong interest in the wastewater market sector.
  • Ability to travel as required for business development and project/client responsibilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Maintain a stellar reputation for integrity, fairness, reliability, good judgment, and aptitude among peers, management, and staff.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in civil or environmental engineering.
  • Design work and knowledge with wastewater treatment and collection systems, utility planning, and other municipal vertical and horizontal infrastructure.
  • Experience leading both internal initiatives and external projects.
