About the position

Hoyle Tanner is seeking a Senior Project Engineer for its Ground Transportation Division, responsible for leading a team in delivering roadway, traffic, drainage, and safety designs for state agencies and municipalities. Responsibilities

• Hold the lead role in an integrated, multi-discipline team that solves technical project challenges of all types.
• Understand project budget, scope of services, project schedule and project development.
• Be a primary contributor or author of the development of technical and price proposals.
• Monitor and review spent hours and dollars versus percent complete in relation to project timelines and budget and provide recommendations to the Project Manager to stay on track.
• Understand the client's organization and develop professional relationships with client peers.
• Manage engineering staff and prioritize technical tasks to meet changes in schedule or resource availability.
• Be proficient in technical writing, editing, and presentations.
• Identify areas of improvement and regularly share best practices and/or improve processes.
• Develop person-hour estimates and budgets.
• Act as a technical lead and demonstrate a specialized skill in a subject matter or application.
• Potentially be the primary team member responsible for overall quality control of the project.
• Pursue a technical engineering or project management specialization as part of your career growth.

Requirements

• BSCE Degree required, MSCE preferred.
• 10+ Years of relevant experience.
• Current PE in NH, MA, ME, or VT.
• Experience with multiple engineering programs.
