About the position
The Software Program Manager at MathWorks will be part of a dedicated team focused on delivering high-value projects that shape the direction of MATLAB, the company's flagship product. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to prioritize and execute complex programs while ensuring high-quality outcomes. The position emphasizes individual growth, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the software development lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Support the planning and execution of multiple projects or programs for MATLAB.
- Partner with cross-functional software development teams to prioritize, plan, track, and execute complex programs.
- Perform program analysis, manage risk, and communicate program status across multiple management levels.
- Continuously assess and improve software development processes and mentor team members.
Requirements
- Experience in developing commercial software products using Agile development practices.
- Outgoing, highly organized, detail-oriented, persistent, and able to deal with uncertainty and change.
- Ability to influence others without direct authority.
- Technical degree in Engineering, Math, or Science.
- Expertise in managing cross-organizational software development projects from initiation through delivery.
- Experience with Jira and Confluence.
- Hands-on experience with developing and reporting on metrics for engineering development, bugs, issues, risks, and other aspects of project management.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with MATLAB Products is preferred, but not required.
