Senior Product Manager, Mapping

NuroMountain View, CA
$160,360 - $240,540

About The Position

Nuro is seeking a Product Manager to oversee the data infrastructure and labeling systems crucial for their autonomous vehicle development. This role is vital for ensuring data quality, which is a primary input for the ML and Behavior teams. The Product Manager will be responsible for creating systems and workflows that guarantee the reliability of the data used by these teams. This includes developing dashboards to automate reconciliation processes, establishing clear labeling standards to minimize rework, and building scalable infrastructure to support the growing fleet. It's a high-ownership position requiring collaboration with Engineering, Operations, ML, and external vendors to transform processes into robust, measurable systems.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of product management experience.
  • Experience with data platforms, ML infrastructure, operations tooling, or vendor management.
  • Ability to take ownership of ambiguous problems and build structure where none exists.
  • Bias toward action and delivering working solutions.
  • Comfort digging into data pipelines, writing SQL, and building visibility tools.
  • Ability to operate at both strategic (long-term vision) and tactical (documenting acceptance criteria, auditing vendor output) levels.
  • Clear communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to measure systems, identify failures, and implement fixes.

Responsibilities

  • Build visibility into data by shipping dashboards that reconcile mileage across sources, show collection coverage, and allow ML and Behavior teams to understand data availability and gaps.
  • Optimize data collection by defining requirements for smarter data collection routing to enhance targeting efficiency, capturing higher-value data with fewer miles driven.
  • Scale the infrastructure to support over 150 vehicles operating in multiple cities.
  • Raise the bar on labeling quality by owning labeling specs approval, defining pass/fail quality thresholds, and designing a vendor audit framework for quantified confidence in output.
  • Own the labeling tooling roadmap, prioritizing engineering investment in labeling infrastructure and identifying cost reduction opportunities through pre-labeling, smarter task routing, and reduced redundant QA.

Benefits

  • Annual performance bonus
  • Equity
  • Competitive benefits package
