About the position

The Director of AI/ML, Analysis and Computing Platforms at GSK's Onyx Research Data Platform is responsible for developing and executing the product strategy for AI/ML platforms that support drug discovery. This role involves collaboration with various R&D teams to ensure the platform meets customer needs, driving product development initiatives, and overseeing the successful launch and adoption of the platform. The director will also manage a team of product managers, ensuring alignment with business objectives and fostering a culture of innovation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive product strategy for the AI/ML Platform product.
• Define and prioritize features, enhancements, and functionalities for the platform based on user analysis and customer feedback.
• Collaborate closely with engineering, AI/ML, and portfolio teams to ensure successful product development and deployment.
• Engage with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders to understand their needs and incorporate feedback into product planning.
• Plan and oversee product launches, ensuring effective communication and training to drive product adoption.
• Define key product metrics and regularly evaluate and report on the performance of the AI/ML platform.
• Serve as an ambassador of the AI/ML platform, communicating its value to GSK leadership and identifying potential customers.
• Stay updated with advancements in AI, machine learning, and compute platforms to drive innovation.
• Manage and mentor a team of product managers, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Computer Science, Machine Learning/AI, or related discipline.
• 4+ years of experience with bioinformatics/genomics databases, biological datasets, biotech or Pharma R&D.
• 2+ years of experience with cloud-based AI model development services or product management.

Nice-to-haves

• Masters or PhD in a related field.
• Strong understanding of biological AI research and model development.
• Proven track record of managing developer platforms, tools, and/or services for research.
• Strong proficiency in utilizing product management tools, including Jira and Confluence.
• Prior product management experience of enterprise AI/ML platform is strongly preferred.
• Proven track record in developing and executing product strategies that drive business growth.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire cross-functional teams.
• A customer-centric mindset with a deep understanding of customer needs.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to gather and interpret data.
