About the position

The Senior Product Designer at McGraw Hill will play a crucial role in developing and implementing the design vision and strategy for the K-12 Math portfolio. This position involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to create engaging and effective educational products, both print and digital, aimed at enhancing the learning experience for students and educators. The role requires strong problem-solving skills, effective communication, and the ability to deliver designs on time and within budget.

Responsibilities

• Translate the design vision, product strategy, and goals into engaging, effective, user-friendly designs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand problems and generate innovative solutions.
• Articulate rationale for design choices to teams and stakeholders.
• Facilitate meetings and conversations with internal teams, vendors, and peers.
• Manage vendors for work areas including onboarding, training, and ensuring quality deliverables.
• Create style guides, guidelines, workflows, and documentation, and mentor others on these expectations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in graphic design, visual communication, digital design, human-centered design, or related field.
• 3 years of work experience with print and web visual design.
• Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly InDesign and Illustrator.
• Familiarity with Photoshop and Figma or other web design tools.
• A portfolio demonstrating strong visual sensibilities and understanding of the design process.
• Understanding of web standards and technologies, including CSS and HTML.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Smartsheet, and Lucidchart.
