About the position

Are you passionate about simplifying complex systems and driving meaningful impact on a global scale? Join our Global Trade Services (GTS) team to transform the way products navigate international regulatory environments. We're looking for a strategic thinker and builder; someone who can help develop scalable, tech-enabled solutions to ensure seamless and compliant product movement across borders. This is more than a compliance role: it's a chance to redefine how trade classification and regulatory risk management operate at scale at Amazon.

Responsibilities

  • Develop Strategic Frameworks: Define global strategies to meet diverse regulatory requirements across countries and product categories.
  • Design Scalable Systems: Build mechanisms to operationalize classification and compliance processes across millions of products.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as the connective tissue between product, tech, legal, operations, and policy teams.
  • Lead Continuous Improvement: Use data-driven insights to optimize trade compliance processes and remove operational friction.
  • Risk Mitigation Through Measurement: Build systems that proactively identify and address regulatory risks through metrics and automation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Law, International Trade, or a related field
  • 6+ years of experience in trade compliance, risk management, supply chain operations, product classification, or regulatory affairs
  • Experience designing and implementing scalable processes or systems in complex environments
  • Experience working cross-functionally with policy, technical, legal, and operational teams
  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CCS, CES, LCB, PMP, Six Sigma)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret regulatory requirements and convert them into actionable processes
  • Experience with international trade regulations (e.g., HTS classification, import regulations, PGAs like EPA/FDA)
  • Familiarity with customs data, tariff codes, or trade automation tools
  • Experience leading global programs or process improvement initiatives across regions
  • Technical fluency or experience working with tech teams to build automated solutions
  • Strong understanding of risk management frameworks or compliance measurement systems
  • Passion for innovation, operational excellence, and solving ambiguous regulatory challenges at scale
  • Proficiency in SQL

Benefits

  • Equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package
  • Full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits
