About the position

The position involves determining network strategies and competencies by planning the delivery of solutions, mentoring team members, and evaluating business strategies to establish network requirements. The role includes implementing and maintaining network systems, conducting analyses, and preparing reports while ensuring compliance with standards and policies. The individual will also lead project meetings, provide technical support, and collaborate with various teams to optimize the network environment.

Responsibilities

  • Determines network strategies and competence by planning delivery of solutions.
  • Mentors team members and answers technical questions for less experienced staff.
  • Evaluates business strategies and requirements to determine network needs.
  • Conducts system network and vulnerability analyses and risk assessments.
  • Plans network systems by evaluating technologies and developing requirements for LANs, WANs, VPNs, and related devices.
  • Implements network systems by specifying connectivity configurations and directing equipment installation.
  • Prepares preventive and reactive measures for network maintenance.
  • Verifies network systems by developing and implementing tests.
  • Maintains network compliance with standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Conducts incident response analyses and upgrades network systems as needed.
  • Identifies network gaps and implements enhancements.
  • Prepares system network reports by summarizing data and trends.
  • Leads project meetings and acts as a resource for technical tasks.
  • Provides support for Infrastructure teams in debugging and troubleshooting.
  • Communicates with development teams regarding changes in the network environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required; Advanced Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 12 years' related experience, with at least 8 years in a network role.
  • Expert working level with switches, routers, wireless LANs, load balancing, and DNS.
  • Expert level with Cisco environment required.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and knowledge of TCP/IP and routing.
  • Experience in large scale Enterprise Network environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong documentation skills to meet compliance requirements.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certification in a Network role (e.g. CCNA) is highly desirable.
  • Experience with voice-over-IP environments is a plus.
