About The Position

We are seeking a Senior Platform Engineer with expertise in AWS and Cloud Infrastructure to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing, planning, and developing cloud infrastructure architectures that serve as the platform for our software engineers. You will champion infrastructure as code, automate processes, and own the operation of core AWS platform capabilities including accounts, IAM, networking, compute, and managed services like EKS, MSK, RDS, ECS, and Lambda. You will also shape DevOps practices, including CI/CD, GitOps, and FinOps, and build processes to ensure data protection and compliance. Your responsibilities will include analyzing and resolving operational disruptions, collaborating with software engineering teams, and integrating AI into your daily work to enhance efficiency and innovation.

Requirements

  • A degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics or equivalent demonstrable qualification.
  • Solid professional experience designing, implementing, operating, and monitoring highly available cloud architectures (AWS, Docker) and distributed systems.
  • AWS generalist with hands-on depth - comfortable across IAM, networking, compute, and the breadth of services that make up a real platform.
  • Experience operating key platform services such as container orchestration (Kubernetes, ideally Amazon EKS) and event streaming (Kafka, ideally Amazon MSK).
  • Experience provisioning infrastructure with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform and AWS CDK.
  • An automation-first mindset.
  • Reliability and security are first-class concerns in any infrastructure you build.
  • Ability to drive system design for complex services with an eye on performance and cost.
  • Ability to take ownership of complex projects including architectural decision-making.
  • Ability to share knowledge across the team.
  • Enjoy working in a team but are equally comfortable taking ownership.
  • Fluent in English.

  • Shape the DevOps practices that run the platform - from CI/CD and GitOps deployment workflows (e.g. GitLab) to FinOps practices such as cost monitoring and resource tagging.
  • Build processes that ensure data-protection, compliance, and other regulatory requirements are met within development.
  • Analyze and resolve disruptions in platform operations and make sure our customers are not affected by outages.
