About the position

Geosyntec is seeking a Senior or Principal Environmental Professional to enhance its environmental compliance and due diligence practice. This role involves managing projects and teams, developing client relationships, and ensuring technical excellence in areas such as portfolio risk management, environmental health and safety compliance, and Brownfield redevelopment. The position is available in various California locations and is ideal for experienced professionals looking to lead innovative projects.

Responsibilities

  • Managing, permitting, planning, compliance, and environmental oversight of projects involving due diligence, including multi-media compliance reviews and ASTM-compliant Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments.
  • Managing multiple projects within the scope/budget/schedule expectations and ensuring quality standards on project deliverables.
  • Managing the overall delivery of projects including project planning and controls, financial management, change management, risk management, and contract/subcontract management.
  • Effectively stewarding and building client relationships to encourage repeat business.
  • Developing business opportunities with new and existing clients and preparing associated proposals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental or earth sciences; or environmental, civil, or chemical engineering; or a related field.
  • Minimum 8 years (10+ years preferred) of experience in an environmental consulting environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge and experience with environmental regulations in the Western U.S., including California.
  • Significant experience with Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments.
  • Valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel.
  • Current OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training and refreshers.

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced degree in environmental or earth sciences or related field.
  • Licensure as a Professional Engineer (P.E.), Professional Geologist (P.G.), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), or similar.
  • Knowledge and experience with health and safety regulations in the Western U.S., including California.
  • An outstanding track record for client management and technical leadership.
