About The Position

The Senior Operations Team Lead is responsible for overseeing operational performance, service delivery quality, and cybersecurity readiness across a federal IT environment. This role requires a hands-on leader with deep experience managing system availability, operational metrics, and compliance activities while guiding technical teams in maintaining secure, resilient production systems.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in IT service delivery, cybersecurity operations, or operational support for federal IT systems.
  • Demonstrated experience managing SLAs, system availability metrics, and operational performance reporting.
  • Hands‑on experience supporting FISMA compliance, NIST SP 800‑53, NIST 800‑37, and POA&M management activities.
  • Experience supporting audit readiness efforts for federal oversight bodies.
  • Strong understanding of operational processes, incident management, and service delivery best practices.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to coordinate across technical and non‑technical teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day‑to‑day IT operations and service delivery activities, ensuring stable, secure, and high‑performing production environments.
  • Manage Service Level Agreements (SLAs), system availability metrics, and operational reporting to ensure adherence to performance targets and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Oversee operations support related to cybersecurity compliance, including FISMA requirements, NIST SP 800‑53 and NIST 800‑37 frameworks, and POA&M lifecycle management.
  • Coordinate audit readiness activities and documentation for internal and external audits, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and issue resolution.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity, engineering, and application teams to maintain operational continuity and ensure alignment with organizational standards.
  • Monitor system performance trends, troubleshoot operational issues, and drive root‑cause analysis and long‑term corrective actions.
  • Support incident management and escalation processes to restore services quickly and prevent recurrence.
  • Prepare recurring operational dashboards, reports, and briefings for leadership and stakeholder review.
  • Mentor junior staff, promote operational best practices, and contribute to continuous improvement across the environment.
