The Senior Network Engineer position oversees and performs the design, configuration, documentation, testing, and commissioning of OT networks in support of Industrial Control System projects. In addition, this person is responsible for performing network assessments in Manufacturing and OT environments. They also contribute to overall team performance by training/mentoring associates, providing technical assistance, and improving processes and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Provide network architecture and design and development for OT systems of varying complexity.
  • Develop and evaluate alternative system solutions that meet stated requirements.
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity issues for root cause and remediate findings.
  • Perform maintenance and upgrade of networks, including routers, switches, firewalls, remote access systems, and network management systems.
  • Monitor network connectivity and ensure high quality data transmission.
  • Assess & Analyze existing local area network systems, to include testing and validation of security controls.
  • Resolve complex interoperability problems to obtain operations across all platforms.
  • Configure typical system to match user environments.
  • Participate in planning, researching, evaluating, designing and developing plans for network systems.
  • Interact with customers to gain an understanding of the business environment. Defines scope, plans and deliverables for assigned work.
  • Work successfully in a matrix structure; focused strongly on customer service and personal growth.

Requirements

  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering from an accredited college/university or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years' work experience in OT network assessment, architecture/design configuration and deployment.
  • CISCO CCNA certification.
  • Experience with PaloAlto and/or Fortinet Firewalls.
  • Familiarity with IEC62443 Zones & Conduits.
  • Familiarity with the Converged Plantwide Ethernet (CPwE) Cisco validated design.
  • Able to interpret OT network traffic using dissectors.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, have excellent attention to detail and be willing and able to learn new technologies quickly.
  • Ability to travel within the continental US; up to 30%.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience designing and deploying OT Network security monitoring tools.
  • 62443 Design and Operate certification.
  • CompTIA Security + or Network + certification.
  • CISCO CCNP certification.
  • Certification in PaloAlto or Fortinet firewall configuration.
  • Experience with NTRON, Hirschman, or other OT Switch families.
