About The Position

Atlantic Constructors is seeking a highly experienced and driven Senior MEP Superintendent to lead and manage all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) operations on large-scale commercial construction projects. The Senior MEP Superintendent plays a critical role in delivering complex projects by overseeing field execution, coordinating trades, enforcing safety, and ensuring compliance with plans, codes, and quality standards. This leadership position is ideal for candidates with a proven track record of success in managing MEP scopes as Superintendent on high-value, fast-paced construction projects such as hospitals, data centers, high-rise buildings, or advanced manufacturing facilities.

Requirements

  • 6+ years previous experience as a General Foreman, General Superintendent and/or equivalent combination of vocational training and experience.
  • Ability to successfully supervise large crew (20+).
  • Prior experience supervising large teams.
  • Previous knowledge of man hour reports, job cost reports, workforce planning and estimating.
  • Advanced understanding of construction cost control, forecasting and setting goals.
  • Effective communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills, demonstrated ability to work across varied disciplines.
  • Ability to effectively present information to customers, clients, and colleagues.
  • OSHA 30 and CPR certification.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of, reading, interpreting, and working to: Design drawings (isometric and orthographic), design guides, specifications, Support Drawings and specifications, Contract documents and site coordination of subcontractors.
  • Must be able to multi-task, work with minimal supervision, follow written and oral instructions, show attention to detail, and demonstrate problem-solving skills.
  • Must adhere to all company policy and procedures.
  • Must be available, and have the means to report to multiple job sites as assigned.

Nice To Haves

  • 10+ years' experience in a heavy mechanical construction environment as Superintendent.
  • Prior military experience.
  • HS diploma or GED equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise field Superintendents for MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) operations on commercial construction projects.
  • Supervise larger projects as the General Superintendent or several small jobs at one time.
  • Act as liaison with engineering, estimating, and project teams to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and scheduling.
  • Coordinate with other departments (i.e., Quality Control and Engineering) to ensure all required materials and equipment, inspections, and support craft activities.
  • Provide guidance and direction to crews in budgeting and scheduling.
  • Ensure that production numbers are being reached along with forecasting what it will take to complete the phase codes.
  • Maintain job quality and customer satisfaction at every project stage.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, customers, and vendors to cultivate a positive work environment.
  • Perform a wide range of skilled construction tasks.
  • Hold crews responsible and accountable for keeping AXIOM updated with daily production reports, look aheads, and more.
  • Resolve problems in a variety of construction issues, including productivity monitoring, craft compliance with project safety program requirements; documenting and implementing corrective action.
  • Ensure a safe work environment.
  • Ensure foremen are conducting work with crews safely.
  • Coordinate safety on site.
  • Ensure foremen have material ordered & staged for crews.
  • Review Foreman's Daily logs and notes, and help eliminate constraints.
  • Ensure trades are tracking at or better than estimate using Axiom as their guide.
  • Understand the project job cost, contract obligations, inclusions and exclusions.
  • Review job cost with the PM, PC, and foreman.
  • Complete pre-POC forecast the week before monthly POC meeting.
  • Assist in projection of labor.
  • Review job cost with trade specific foremen.
  • Understand and review projection metric goals with PM and foremen.
  • Perform drawing review.
  • Engage in VDC interaction and coordination during drafting.
  • Participate in VDC reviews & coordination team meetings.
  • Conduct weekly Fabrication meetings and provide updates for pre-fabrication.
  • Review schedules and confirm areas available for installation.
  • Manage manpower and projections.
  • Review equipment release with PM and confirm equipment counts and handoffs.
  • Ensure proper resources (tools, rental equipment, materials) are on the project when needed.
  • Engage foreman teams with planning for efficiency.
  • Create a positive work environment.
