About the position

The Senior Medical Science Liaison (Sr. MSL) for Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine is responsible for providing scientific information and education to healthcare professionals and internal partners in the Upper Midwest territory. This role involves building relationships with opinion leaders, managing a strategic territory plan, and supporting research initiatives while ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations. The Sr. MSL is expected to demonstrate strong scientific acumen and engage in continuous learning to stay updated on the therapeutic area.

Responsibilities

  • Provide fair balanced, objective scientific information to opinion leaders and healthcare professionals.
  • Build and maintain relationships with identified opinion leaders and healthcare providers.
  • Develop and manage a geographical territory strategic plan.
  • Respond to unsolicited scientific inquiries from healthcare professionals and integrate scientific data into practice.
  • Execute plans for proactive and reactive outreach to healthcare providers.
  • Engage with external investigators regarding research inquiries and facilitate communication with internal teams.
  • Support clinical trials by identifying potential sites and resolving issues with enrolled sites.
  • Participate in scientific conferences and share medical insights with the team.
  • Perform administrative requirements accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with field-based partners and other MSL teams.

Requirements

  • PharmD, PhD, MD, or other advanced medical degree with 2 years of relevant clinical experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of MSL experience or relevant work experience in clinical, research, or pharma.
  • Significant experience in giving presentations.
  • Ability to support travel up to 70%, including overnight travel and some weekend commitments.
  • Valid U.S. driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Reside within the defined territory or be eligible for relocation.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge or experience in Immunology and/or GI.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and remote technologies.
  • Reside in or near the Minneapolis/St. Paul Metro area.
