About The Position

BerryDunn is seeking an experienced Senior Consultant to join our Medicaid consulting team. As part of our consulting team focused on supporting state Medicaid agencies, you will work within Medicaid policy to help agencies implement new programs and administer their current program. You’ll be the success partner for Medicaid agencies in building healthier communities and stronger futures. You will work remotely, hybrid, or in one of our offices, helping clients nationally. You will report to and partner with management team members and our Medicaid subject matter experts for both client work and career development. With a growth mindset, you will drive your own development and partner with junior staff to support their development. Your initial work will be in support of our client in Guam, providing advisory and hands on support for a variety of Medicaid policy initiatives along with ad hoc request for policy support. To support Guam, successful clients should willing to work a schedule that overlaps with the client, minimally 8 am to 12 pm Tuesday through Friday Chamorro Standard Time (ChST). Travel Expectations: Travel to client sites can range up to 50%.

Requirements

  • Drive and initiative
  • Seven or more years working for a state Medicaid agency supporting policy initiatives, consulting with state Medicaid agencies on policy initiatives, or working with CMS to support state Medicaid agencies on Medicaid policy.
  • Direct experience working with most Medicaid authorities such as waivers and the state plan.
  • Experience analyzing regulations and sub-regulatory guidance to inform the direction of the program along with managing projects and initiatives to implement program changes to comply with the regulation.
  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in in Public Policy, Health Management, Public Health, or a similar field or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in relationship building and teamwork; experience working across/ facilitating conversations across multiple state agencies/ external partners to Medicaid
  • Excellent writing, communication and computer skills

Responsibilities

  • Use your Medicaid policy expertise to advance client policy initiatives by advising clients, conducting research and policy analysis, and producing written policy content (briefs, implementation options/timelines, compliance analysis, state plan amendments, waiver material, provider policies, legislative and/or congressional reports), and supporting the team through collaboration, peer review and mentorship of junior staff
  • Drive your development through an annual process that supports your growth goal in partnership with your supervisor and partner with more junior team members to share your knowledge and support their development
  • Participate in new business development through activities such as research, supporting proposal content, or developing marketing materials (business development)
