Responsibilities

  • Lead a mechanical engineering team to provide advisory services and engineering design solutions for clients across all market sectors.
  • Mentor and manage junior and mid-level mechanical engineering staff members.
  • Collaborate with Client Account Managers and sales professionals on strategic pursuits.
  • Engage with clients to evaluate their energy needs and develop concept-level plans and solutions.
  • Oversee the detailed design and execution of energy projects from exploration to retirement.
  • Participate in business development and strategy formation for new project opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Advanced Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
  • At least 10 years of engineering design and/or consulting experience.
  • Professional Engineering licensure (any US state).
  • Proven ability to engage with clients, develop relationships, and win work.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage in business growth strategy and apply new technologies.
  • Experience with proposal development and project execution planning.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with thermal utility plants and distribution systems (steam, hot water, chilled water).
  • Utility master planning or decarbonization/climate response planning experience.
  • Knowledge of cogeneration or combined heat and power systems.
  • Familiarity with heat pump/heat recovery chillers.
  • Prior personnel management responsibilities.
