About the position

This position is focused on mastering Production Technology and Maintenance Techniques within a medical device manufacturing environment. The role involves investigating and resolving production losses, developing maintenance standards, implementing maintenance processes, and building maintenance skills among operators. The individual will ensure compliance with quality systems and safety regulations while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate and resolve production losses (Breakdown, Waste, Speed).
  • Attend Tier 1 and Production Analysis Board (PAB) meetings to provide engineering status and agree on resource deployment.
  • Support Shift Technicians in investigating losses to ensure effective countermeasures are implemented.
  • Coach Technicians and Operators on problem-solving tools and countermeasure effectiveness.
  • Engage with Operators and Technicians to improve Daily Task Maintenance and Planned Preventative Maintenance.
  • Provide details to improve Maintenance Standards based on problem-solving outcomes.
  • Lead maintenance activities for designated product lines in conjunction with the Preventative Maintenance Leader.
  • Provide training and coaching to Operators and Technicians on maintenance activities and standards.
  • Ensure all preventative maintenance activities are performed effectively, including opportunistic maintenance.
  • Record maintenance details and report any abnormalities during maintenance activities.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree required; Bachelor's Degree preferred in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering.
  • In lieu of Bachelor's Degree, 10 years of Technical or Manufacturing experience required.
  • Two years of medical device manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Three years of people leading experience preferred.
  • Five years of experience with high-speed automated assembly and packing equipment required.
  • Some PLC experience preferred.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and build team dynamics.
  • Independent thinking and self-driven attitude.
  • Proficient decision-making ability.
  • Proficient in machine design and troubleshooting/problem-solving.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in quality systems knowledge.
  • Basic knowledge of logistics and planning.
