About The Position

This role is responsible for successfully launching programs, meeting all internal and customer deliverables. The Senior Manager Program Management will identify program managers and support the timely assembly of the Software Development Team (SDT) for new programs in liaison with functional managers, and decide program priorities during staff shortages. The role involves coaching and motivating program managers to ensure ownership and responsibility for their programs, and ensuring they lead programs matching their experience and ability. Developing and following up on individual development plans for program managers is also a key responsibility. The position assists in developing and enhancing program management systems, tools, training, and strategic planning. The Senior Manager will periodically review program deliverables (e.g., timeline, SOW, Issues List) with the PM to ensure realistic planning and help review risks. Participation in Program Management Steering Committee meetings and reviewing PMP improvements with EDPM (based on “lessons learned” from running programs) is expected. The role also involves troubleshooting difficult program problems and ensuring full compliance with YF-IOS across all programs. Reviewing business plans with senior management and identifying program management needs (including BU Advance SDT planning) is part of the role. The employee must have the ability to work additional hours and/or overtime as needed or assigned to complete job duties on time. The ability to multitask, interact politely and professionally with customers, suppliers, and vendors, and work cooperatively with employees at all levels is required. Maintaining predictable and regular attendance, arriving to the designated location on time, or being at the assigned location ready to work for assignment (plant, corporate office, or remote) is also essential. The role supports Program Reviews and Phase Exit Reviews on a regular basis and develops clear actions/takeaways. Travel expectations are 10-15%.

Requirements

  • Degree in an Engineering or Business discipline, or equivalent, and compensating training in the other area.
  • 7-10+ years of experience in manufacturing industry in three SDT areas.
  • 5+ years of experience in project management, of which at least 3 years are in the automotive industry.
  • Customer and Supplier relationship management experience.
  • BOS knowledge.
  • Program management body of knowledge.
  • Understanding of engineering development, drawings, and automotive production techniques & logistics.
  • Cost and quality management.
  • Business, commercial, and financial competence.
  • MS-Project, MS-Office, Lotus Notes.
  • Understand, apply and meet all function related YF IOS requirements.
  • Understand, apply and meet all function related EHS requirements.
  • Understand, apply and meet all function-related Product Safety requirements.
  • Understand, apply and meet all function-related Compliance requirements.
  • Understand, apply and meet all function-related IT / Information Security and confidentiality of YFAI information requirements.
  • Must comply with all company policies and procedures.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities
