About The Position

This role is responsible for identifying consumer and product trends, uncovering whitespace opportunities, and partnering cross-functionally to bring new product innovation territories to life. You’ll play a key role in shaping the future of our portfolio by driving bold ideas, vetting new product innovation territories through consumer research and small-scale testing, and helping to ensure our pipeline reflects evolving consumer needs.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in innovation development and/or product strategy
  • Excellent strategic storytelling and communication skills with the ability to influence senior leadership
  • High tolerance for ambiguity paired with strong creative problem-solving skills and a bias for action
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects while balancing multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Strong understanding of consumer insights and market dynamics
  • A deep curiosity and passion for customer experience, culture, and emerging beverage trends
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

Responsibilities

  • Drive strategy and development of our multi-year beverage innovation pipeline
  • Identify early market, whitespace opportunities through consumer insights, market analysis, and competitive benchmarking
  • Shape how Starbucks wins in prioritized early market, whitespace innovation territories
  • Monitor emerging global and domestic trends that will have a material impact on the Starbucks business
  • Translate insights into actionable product innovation territories and concepts
  • Guide iterative testing of prototypes to better understand product concept desirability and pressure-test innovation territory design principles and ways in
  • Partner with Research and Development on product briefs, outline design principles, and propose ways in for identified innovation territories
  • Partner with internal and external research teams to develop research briefs and learning plans
  • Seamlessly hand off validated innovation territories to Product Category Business teams
