Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategies to build relationships and advocate for Circle's interests with Republican members of Congress and key staff.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory developments, providing insights and advice on how they may impact Circle's business and the broader stablecoin and digital asset ecosystem.
  • Engage in regular communication with policymakers, trade associations, and industry stakeholders to ensure Circle's priorities are effectively represented.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to align government affairs efforts with Circle's strategic objectives.
  • Manage external consultants and lobbyists to advance policy initiatives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Republican lawmakers and key staff, the presidential administration, regulatory agencies to advocate for Circle's interests in the stablecoin and cryptocurrency space.
  • Educate federal and state policymakers on key Company initiatives and general corporate matters.
  • Monitor and analyze federal and state legislative and regulatory developments that could impact Circle's business, providing timely insights and recommendations to internal stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement advocacy strategies to advance Circle's policy objectives, particularly with Republican policymakers on relevant Senate and House committees.
  • Represent Circle in meetings with government officials, industry groups, trade associations, and external partners to communicate the company's position on key policy issues.
  • Lead and draft responses to policy and regulatory requests for information on stablecoins and cryptoassets globally.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including legal, compliance, and communications, to ensure government affairs initiatives are aligned with Circle's broader strategic goals.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage Circle's reputation within Congress and the administration and to increase awareness of Circle's influence on financial access and social impact.
  • Leverage AI tools and technologies to monitor legislative developments, analyze policy impacts, and streamline the creation of reports, briefs, and advocacy materials.
  • Utilize data-driven insights and AI-powered analytics to assess stakeholder sentiment, optimize engagement strategies, and enhance the effectiveness of government relations initiatives.
  • Create supporting documentation (e.g., factsheets, PowerPoints, etc.) for engagements with policymakers and regulators.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience on Capitol Hill, in the Executive Branch, financial regulator, trade association or a government relations similar role.
  • Proven experience in advising, briefing, and presenting to senior government officials.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong ability to identify and leverage political opportunities, establish connections, and engage key stakeholders to drive advocacy strategies.
  • Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills, particularly in relation to legislative and regulatory matters.
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field or equivalent experience/training preferred.
  • Requires the ability to travel up to 25%; must reside or be in a commutable proximity to the Washington, DC metro area.
