About the position
The Senior Manager, In House Design is responsible for leading all In House Design projects at The Hershey Company, focusing on both strategic and adaptive design across various brands. This role involves managing a team of approximately six designers, overseeing the design function, and acting as the relationship manager for TPN Design. The position aims to enhance Hershey's core brand equities through world-class design while building the design capabilities within the organization. The Senior Manager will operate at both detailed project management and broad strategic levels, requiring strong communication and negotiation skills.
Responsibilities
- Lead adaptive packaging design and implementation.
- Develop preproduction art and other packaging assets.
- Create toolkits as needed for design processes.
- Concept and design packaging with support from Design Managers.
- Ensure HAS files are approved and released for universal use.
- Develop and implement tools to optimize the design process.
- Support the development of capability-building tools for consistency and speed across marketing strategies.
- Act as the OMNI team representative for retail media asset development and production.
- Oversee the creation of banners and addressable customer-specific creative.
- Conduct TPN briefing and creative reviews.
- Develop Super 6 imagery for seasonal and everyday products.
- Art direct and review all art created by direct reports.
- Collaborate with Design Managers to ensure adherence to design VIS.
- Create high-level presentations to support design initiatives.
- Monitor design trends and processes to drive innovation.
- Ensure processes are followed and develop new processes with the Design Operations Team.
- Manage HR systems and timelines for the team.
- Foster team relationships and influence collaboration.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in graphic design or a related field is mandatory.
- 10-15 years of experience as a design manager or leading design agencies/projects.
