About the position

The Sr. Manager, Infrastructure Management will lead our database team, driving the strategic vision and execution of database management initiatives across the organization. The Database Manager will oversee a growing team of database professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment. Key responsibilities include establishing and enforcing standards and best practices for database management, managing database projects, and ensuring data integrity and security. In addition to technical oversight, the Database Manager will play a crucial role in coaching, mentoring, and developing team members, supporting their career growth and skill development. We are seeking an individual who can be a leader, collaborator, and executor.

Responsibilities

  • Create better ways of solving technical problems and challenge the status quo.
  • Drive continuous improvement and introduce IT best practices into all areas of database management process, metrics, and performance.
  • Lead and inspire a team of DBA's for IT operations and project support.
  • Hold teams accountable for quality of work and achieving committed work with project timeline.
  • Mentor team members on improvements.
  • Promote collaboration among technology, product, and business teams.
  • Facilitate brainstorming sessions, build consensus, and shepherd solutions through governance forums.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in Database Management with a focus on Azure and on-prem database management.
  • Solid background in database technologies including ETL, Microsoft SQL (Azure SQL, and SQL Managed Instance), database development and implementation issues, including replication, schema design, indexing, and SQL query.
  • Ability to manage life cycle support of database systems: apply patches and upgrades; diagnose and resolve problems; monitor and improve performance.
  • Experience on Oracle, MySQL and Sybase is an asset.
  • 3-5 years' experience leading a team of database administrators.
  • Degree/diploma in Computer Science, Business, and/or a related field.
