About the position

The Senior Maintenance Specialist at GAF is responsible for developing detailed job plans for repairs, alterations, and preventative maintenance of facilities and equipment. This role involves scheduling maintenance activities, managing resources, and ensuring efficient workflow processes. The specialist will also supervise maintenance staff and contractors, maintain the Maximo system, and prepare capital requests for projects.

Responsibilities

• Prepare daily work schedules for the Maintenance Supervisor and up to 30 Maintenance Technicians.
• Develop detailed job plans including labor, materials, tools, and work procedures for repairs and maintenance.
• Manage and maintain the Work Flow process including planning, scheduling, execution, and auditing.
• Supervise contractors and fill in as Maintenance Supervisor as necessary.
• Direct Hourly Planner or Storeroom Attendant.
• Set-up and maintain Preventative Maintenance work orders in Maximo.
• Generate purchase requests for non-stocked parts and tools.
• Develop cost estimates, track spending vs. budget, and performance KPIs for Maintenance.
• Administer Maximo Systems including plant support and training, updating equipment hierarchies, and generating performance reports.
• Prepare capital requests and manage assigned projects from installation to cost control.

Requirements

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required
• Associate's Degree (AA) Preferred
• Minimum of three years of experience in a maintenance department with planning and scheduling techniques
• Two years in a leadership/planning role
• Experience with MWO systems and planning
• Knowledge of predictive maintenance technologies (vibration, oil analysis, I/R thermography)
• Exposure to critical path analysis is a plus.
