About the position

This position is responsible for managing all aspects of line maintenance at assigned station(s), including oversight of contract maintenance personnel and maintenance managers. The role involves ensuring safe and efficient maintenance of company aircraft, coordinating manpower and personnel schedules, and monitoring maintenance activities to improve efficiency and reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Provides managerial oversight of Maintenance Managers and stations as assigned.
  • Conducts analysis of flight schedules to match manpower to flight activity changes.
  • Coordinates manpower and personnel schedules to support aircraft line maintenance operations.
  • Reviews delays for improvement opportunities and tracks On-Time performance for assigned station(s).
  • Ensures safe and efficient maintenance of company aircraft in accordance with policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Manages and coordinates contract line maintenance personnel in assigned station(s).
  • Monitors training, qualifications, and proficiency of maintenance personnel.
  • Monitors Flight Schedules and fleet status for resource optimization.
  • Coordinates line maintenance requirements with various departments.
  • Maintains surveillance of line maintenance activity at assigned station(s).
  • Coordinates resources and technical support for major mechanical events or AOG situations.
  • Identifies recurring problems and recommends changes in procedures to improve efficiency.
  • Coordinates timely repair of deferred maintenance items on aircraft.
  • Ensures shift turnover and work interruption procedures are followed.
  • Ensures accurate and timely updates to MCC for maintenance and AOG status.
  • Monitors maintenance history and formulates corrective action plans for mechanical problems.
  • Ensures timely entry of log page discrepancies and parts changes in TRAX.
  • Maintains liaison with Ground Operations and Flight Operations for safe operations.
  • Enforces safety procedures and practices outlined in company manuals.
  • Performs duties at field locations away from home base as assigned.
  • Flies on company aircraft to support operations around the world.
  • Performs self-audits of station(s) as needed.
  • Develops and manages station(s) budget.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Current and valid FAA Mechanic Certificate with Airframe and Powerplant ratings.
  • Maintain Atlas Air qualification and authorization for Airworthiness Release for assigned aircraft.
  • 9-13 years of experience on 747/767/777 or equivalent wide body aircraft and 737NG or equivalent narrow body aircraft required.
  • Managerial experience required.

Benefits

  • Salary range: $131,000 - $177,000 based on multiple factors including location and experience.
