About The Position

Albemarle is seeking a Senior LIMS Application Engineer for a hybrid role located at Planta La Negra, Antofagasta Region, Chile. This position is crucial for transforming essential resources into critical ingredients for mobility, energy, connectivity, and health. The role involves leading LIMS implementation projects across multiple sites in the US and South America, managing daily operations for LIMS-utilized sites, and driving continuous improvement through data analysis, user feedback, and new technology adoption. A key focus is ensuring data integrity, regulatory compliance, and the utmost reliability of laboratory results. The engineer will work closely with laboratories to understand analytical workflows and testing methods, and will implement integrations between LIMS, laboratory instruments, and enterprise systems like SAP QM and OSI-PI.

Requirements

Degree in Chemical Engineering, Analytical Chemistry, Computer Engineering, Information Systems Engineering, or a related field.
More than 7 years of experience in LIMS or laboratory/quality digital systems (ideally with ThermoFisher SampleManager LIMS).
Minimum of 3 years in leadership roles managing multi-site systems or global projects.
Solid understanding of laboratory workflows and quality processes in the petrochemical industry.
Advanced English proficiency (will be verified in calls and interviews).
Availability to travel at least 50% of the time for field support.
Close work with laboratories to enable digital transformation.

IT knowledge with the ability to program in C# (desirable).

Responsibilities

Lead the implementation of multiple LIMS projects across different sites (US and South America).
Lead the daily operations of multiple sites utilizing LIMS.
Drive continuous improvement through data analysis, user feedback, and adoption of new technologies.
Ensure data integrity, regulatory compliance, and maximum reliability of laboratory results.
Work closely with the laboratory to understand analytical workflows and testing methods.
Implement LIMS integration with laboratory instruments.
Implement LIMS integration with enterprise systems (SAP QM and OSI-PI).
