About The Position

Responsible for assisting officers with all financial needs of high-profile customers. This role involves selling and cross-selling Bank products, preparing loan documentation, coordinating activities between loan officers and customers, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and policies. The specialist will also handle customer service, maintain knowledge of bank products and services, and make referrals to other departments.

Requirements

  • Five or more years of similar or related experience required
  • General computer and typing experience with Microsoft Office Suite, to include Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Driving, and occasional travel, as needed, for business purposes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Extensive reading
  • Work outside of regular business hours, as deemed necessary
  • Ability to make difficult decisions and handle multiple tasks
  • Maintains a thorough knowledge of Bank products, services, policies, procedures and appropriate regulatory issues as related to daily job functions including but not limited to: Bank Secrecy Act; Privacy Act; Fair Lending Act; Regulation E, etc.
  • Completes required compliance training and adheres to the Bank’s standard of conduct.

Responsibilities

  • Sells and cross-sells Bank products to new and established customers by assessing customer needs and product features/benefits.
  • Prepares loans within limited lending authority for Loan Officer review.
  • Coordinates activities between loan officers and loan customers.
  • Prepares loan advances, renewals, extensions, and amendments.
  • Assists Loan Officers with loan closings and funding.
  • Quotes loan payoffs and initiates loan payoff letters.
  • Reviews and resolves credit and collateral exceptions.
  • Files Deeds of Trust, Titles, and UCCs.
  • Assists Loan Officer in compiling information for credit analysis, ordering credit bureau and Dun and Bradstreet reports.
  • Obtains required information from prospective and existing customers for collateral and credit files.
  • Resolves unposted loan items daily.
  • Sends all lending documents to loan administration, ensuring all exceptions are removed.
  • Greets and services all customers in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Ensures loan documentation is processed accurately and filed in a timely manner.
  • Performs all lending relationship specialist functions in compliance with applicable Bank regulations and/or Bank policy and procedures.
  • Opens various deposit accounts and completes account servicing transactions as requested by customer, if needed.
  • May make payment decisions, with approval from banking center president or department head.
  • Maintains a thorough knowledge of Bank products, services, policies, procedures, and appropriate regulatory issues.
  • Completes required compliance training and adheres to the Bank’s standard of conduct.
  • Participates in the bank’s High-Performance Rewards Connections program.
  • Makes referrals to the Mortgage Center and Wealth Management.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Works with appropriate internal groups and external customers and vendors as necessary.
