About The Position

The EHRT Reporting & Analytics team is seeking a Sr Analyst/Programmer to work on complex reporting needs within Epic, supporting areas such as Ambulatory, Research, Oncology, Stork, Lumens, InBasket, Connected Care, Dialysis, and Questionnaires. The role involves understanding workflows, participating in projects, and general report writing using SQL and Epic Cogito tools. The developer will be responsible for the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of custom system software, as well as the installation and maintenance of purchased systems software and configuration/support of hardware systems. This includes developing proposals, evaluating alternatives, and presenting recommendations. The role requires regular review and modification of applications to ensure currency and functionality, maintenance of multiple systems and associated hardware across various Mayo Clinic sites, and production of documentation. The position also involves providing technical and project leadership, demonstrating initiative, working independently, and collaborating effectively across departments and with vendors. Routine virtual collaboration with colleagues at Mayo Clinic Group practices is expected. On-call support may be required.

Requirements

  • Understanding of workflows in one or more of the following areas: Ambulatory, Research, Oncology, Stork, Lumens, InBasket, Connected Care, Dialysis, Questionnaires.
  • General report writing skills.
  • SQL skills.
  • Epic Cogito tools skills.
  • Ability to work effectively across departmental organizations gaining consensus of stakeholders.
  • Ability to interface routinely with colleagues who may be located at any of the Mayo Group practices to perform job responsibilities requiring virtual collaboration and partnership.
  • Must live within 100 miles of a Mayo Clinic campus.

Responsibilities

  • Design, development, implementation, and maintenance of custom system software.
  • Installation and maintenance of purchased systems software.
  • Configuration and support of hardware systems.
  • Develop proposals considering alternatives and business case, and gain institutional approvals.
  • Evaluate alternative approaches and present recommendations to teams and unit leadership.
  • Regularly review applications and make modifications and/or updates to ensure currency and functionality.
  • Maintain and support multiple systems or complex software applications and their associated hardware at multiple Mayo Clinic sites.
  • Produce and maintain documentation such as system requirements, designs, resource inventories, and plans.
  • Provide technical and project leadership to other staff members.
  • Demonstrate initiative and work independently as needed.
  • Work effectively across departmental organizations gaining consensus of stakeholders.
  • Interface with vendor support service groups or other external support teams.
  • Act as a liaison to Mayo departments and vendors.
  • Perform job responsibilities requiring virtual collaboration and partnership with colleagues.
  • Provide 24/7 on-call support as required.
