About The Position

SEL is seeking a collaborative professional with a strong accounting background to join our Internal Audit team. In this role, you will plan and execute audits in a team-based environment, use and build new technology-enabled audit solutions, and partner across the organization to deliver practical, value-added recommendations that strengthen and simplify processes and controls. You will have the opportunity to influence change and contribute to continuous improvement within a dynamic, innovative organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Innovative, motivated, self-directed.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Working knowledge of accounting and finance principles, theories, and concepts, or working knowledge of GAAP, Tax, and/or IFRS.
  • 3+ years of professional experience in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills.
  • Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities.
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
  • Background check results satisfactory to SEL.
  • Negative drug test result(s).

Nice To Haves

  • CPA, CMA, or CFA; or Master’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field; or MBA.
  • Accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or Tax systems.
  • Tax, audit, project, and/or cost accounting experience.
  • International accounting experience.

Responsibilities

  • Apply working knowledge of accounting and finance principles to perform, review, or audit a variety of journal entries, account analyses, workpapers, and reconciliations, and perform month-end close tasks and/or assist in the consolidation of US and international entities, and/or assist in the coordination of external audits, and/or prepare tax returns.
  • Prepare analysis of financial results requiring some judgment and creativity for management review, and provide other support and recommendations for division management.
  • Prepare budgets, projections, product cost analyses, and other analyses, and/or assist in implementation or review of internal controls.
  • Perform research and planning according to generally accepted accounting principles, tax laws, and/or IFRS, and make recommendations to management.
  • Lead special projects.
  • Follow and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.
