About the position

IMC Architecture is seeking a Senior Interior Designer to join our team in Brooklyn, NY. This position is ideal for a candidate with over 8 years of professional experience in interior architectural design. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and producing work throughout all phases of various projects, which include high-end and affordable residential, office, institutional, and hospitality designs. The role requires a strong design sensibility, excellent client-facing skills, and the ability to work autonomously while also contributing to team dynamics. The Senior Interior Designer will play a crucial role in developing the aesthetic design and preparing the necessary interior design documentation, including drawings and specifications. The candidate will be expected to assist in establishing office standards and workflows, ensuring that the design intent is maintained throughout the project lifecycle. This position offers an opportunity to work in a growing office that values innovative and thoughtful design, allowing for personal and professional growth. The ideal candidate will demonstrate initiative and creativity in their daily responsibilities, possess strong communication skills in both spoken and written English, and be proficient in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Sketch-up, and Adobe Programs. Responsibilities

  • Manage and produce work throughout all phases of projects.
  • Lead or assist project teams in developing aesthetic designs and preparing interior design documentation.
  • Develop design documentation at all stages of the project, including Test-fit plans and finishes & materials concepts.
  • Coordinate the work of design consultants to ensure project alignment.
  • Follow established standards for project production and review.
  • Assist in developing construction drawings and detailing to maintain design intent.
  • Prioritize and manage the design of multiple projects effectively.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in interior architectural design.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Architecture or Interior Design.
  • Strong design skills with experience in delivering interior design processes and projects.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Sketch-up, and Adobe Programs.
  • Excellent spoken and written English communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, energetic, proactive, and flexible in meeting project timelines.
