About The Position

The Senior HR Business Partner (Sr. HRBP) works closely with leadership, clinical staff, and team members to align HR strategy with business and facility goals. Supporting two of our most established, high-volume behavioral health crisis response centers, this role serves as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to leaders and staff. This role provides consultative support on workforce issues that directly impact operational strategy, patient care, and organizational effectiveness. Acting as the primary point of contact for assigned client groups, this position delivers expertise in workforce planning, policy interpretation, compliance, employment law, employee relations, and HR fundamentals while ensuring ease of access to HR deliverables. The Sr. HRBP plays a critical role in shaping and scaling the people function within a fast-growing behavioral health organization. By leveraging data-driven insights, coaching leaders, and driving HR best practices, the Sr. HRBP fosters a resilient, engaging culture that supports mental health professionals in high-growth, high-impact environments. This position requires travel between assigned sites (Phoenix and Tucson) to support leaders and their teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business, or related field
  • At least 4 years of progressive HR generalist or related experience, including at least 2 years as an HR Business Partner, HR Manager, or comparable strategic HR role
  • Experience in the healthcare industry
  • Demonstrated success in building, implementing, and supporting HR programs in fast-paced, high-growth startup or scale-up environments
  • Strong knowledge of HR practices, Arizona labor and employment law, and related compliance requirements
  • Proven ability to support multi-site, multi-state operations
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and relationship-building skills

Nice To Haves

  • At least 6 years of progressive HR generalist or related experience, including at least 4 years as an HR Business Partner, HR Manager, or comparable strategic HR role
  • SHRM-SCP, SPHR certification or master's in human resources
  • Experience working in a behavioral health organization or supporting behavioral health professionals
  • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the HR Business partner across multiple centers/locations, ensuring consistent application of HR programs, policies, and practices.
  • Build strong relationships with site leadership teams and provide on-site and remote support as needed to support business goals and patient care outcomes.
  • Partner with operational and clinical leaders to align workforce strategies with business objectives, patient care outcomes, and operational performance.
  • Identify market-specific workforce challenges and implement scalable, enterprise-aligned solutions.
  • Lead or participate in workforce planning, job development, and educational needs assessments.
  • Act as a change agent through process design and approaches that support organizational transformation.
  • Support region/site readiness for growth, including new service line launches, staffing models, and operational transitions.
  • Coach and support leaders in addressing complex performance issues, interpersonal dynamics, and leadership challenges.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to foster cultural and operational consistency across locations.
  • Partner with Benefits, Compensation, and HR Operations to ensure effective delivery of HR programs across assigned sites.
  • Analyze workforce trends and metrics to identify risks, improve retention, and support data-informed decision-making.
  • Coach leaders on proactive performance management, organizational effectiveness, leadership development, and risk mitigation across a multi-site environment.
  • Partner closely with Talent Acquisition, Benefits, HR Operations, Talent Management, and other HR functions to ensure consistent rollout, communication, and execution of HR programs, initiatives, and policies across assigned business areas.
  • Assess employee engagement trends, identify issues, and recommend courses of action based on policies, guidelines, and applicable law.
  • Support leaders in understanding available benefits and resources; escalate complex benefits issues to the Benefits team.
  • Connect employees with mental health, wellness, and professional development resources.
  • Support enterprise talent initiatives, including performance management, talent review, succession planning, and leadership development processes.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure a seamless employee experience.
  • Serve as a trusted resource to employees for employment inquiries, policy interpretation, and concern resolution.
  • Champion and support team member recognition events and celebrations.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and state employment regulations.
  • Interpret and review HR policies and procedures; recommend policy and process improvements to enhance employee experience and organizational compliance.
  • Provide expertise and support on ADA, FMLA, Break Laws, and Worker’s Comp.
  • Support consistent application of employment policies and practices.
  • Assist in ensuring facility readiness for audits and adherence to compliance standards.
  • Partner with the Talent Acquisition team and hiring managers to support recruitment campaigns, job fairs, and college relations programs.
  • Provide guidance and training to managers on building strong candidate pipelines for clinical and non-clinical roles.
  • Support onboarding and co-facilitating New Employee Orientation (NEO) programs.
  • Champion employee referral programs and other creative sourcing strategies.
  • Collaborate with leaders on retention and engagement initiatives that reduce turnover and address clinician burnout.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
